How the math works
Minimum walking surface equals height / sin(angle), measured along the ramp surface your dog walks on. Floor space (run) equals height / tan(angle), the horizontal distance from furniture to ramp base. These are distinct: surface length is the walking path, floor run is the footprint on the ground.
Practical angle range
For many doxies, 16 to 20 degrees is easier to walk slowly than steeper bed or couch access setups. These are planning targets; your dog's comfort is the final test.
